Well, it was my last day at school on Friday. Mum suggested I play my pipes at assembly as a farewell to my high school. I was pretty nervous, more nervous than I usually am before I play. But in the end it was a good idea and heaps of people said goodbye, and good things to me afterwards. My English teacher also brought snacks for everyone in the afternoon too, which was really cool! Oh and everyone in my class wrote in and signed a card which I got.

Forty Days and Counting Down

In forty days I fly out of New Zealand - Bound for Paris. I am gathering together all the stuff I need. I have my travel insurance, passport and visa. Still to arrive in the post in the Cites certificate that I need so that I can take my bagpipes. They have original ivory and this needs clearance for customs. While away I will be having my pipe lessons via the internet through Skype using a webcam. This means that I have to fly to Christchurch in a couple of weeks to meet my new tutor and be assessed. I have 6 hours instruction altogether with him. It's an unexpected trip but an important one.
My laptop and digital camera arrived a day or so ago.
I have had swim lessons from a swim coach these school holidays, and I have 4 weeks of term 1 at highschool before I go. Trying to think of everything I need.......
